High pressure hydrogen storage test

Hydrogen storage testing has six professional laboratories, including high-pressure hydrogen circulation and permeation laboratory, cylinder hydraulic durability testing laboratory, vibration laboratory, hydraulic blasting laboratory, high-pressure pulse laboratory, and environmental and valve testing laboratory. It can carry out hydrogen circulation, performance, hydrogen permeation, hydrogen compatibility of inner tank materials, hydraulic circulation, blasting testing, environmental vibration testing of 35MPa and 70MPa hydrogen storage cylinders and related components. At the same time, it can also carry out solid-state hydrogen storage charging/discharging performance, cycle charging/discharging life, airtightness testing, and maximum temperature rise pressure testing projects.

The high-pressure hydrogen circulation test can be conducted on the core components of the hydrogen storage system under temperature (-40 to 85 ℃) and humidity upper limit of up to 98% RH conditions. The hydrogen permeation value is detected by gas chromatography, with an allowable pressure upper limit of 105MPa and a hydrogen filling and discharging rate that meets international and domestic standards. The operation of this experimental equipment has provided tremendous support for the research and development of IV type bottles in China.

Testing standards

Cylinder Hydraulic Durability Testing Laboratory

The laboratory has a hydrogen storage cylinder hydraulic cycle, water pressure burst, static pressure, and component fatigue testing system, which can carry out normal temperature/high and low temperature pressure cycles, water pressure burst, static pressure tests, and component pressure and fatigue tests for Type III and Type IV gas cylinders, meeting the testing requirements of GB/T 35544, T/CATSI 02 007, GB/T 42612, GB/T 9252, etc. The verification of hydraulic strength and durability of gas cylinders is a necessary verification item and safety guarantee before conducting hydrogen cycle tests on hydrogen storage cylinders.

High pressure hydrogen circulation and permeation laboratory

The laboratory has a 105MPa high-pressure hydrogen circulation test bench, which can conduct high-pressure hydrogen circulation tests on core components of hydrogen storage systems at temperatures ranging from -40 to 85 ℃. Hydrogen permeation tests can be observed through gas chromatography, with a maximum allowable pressure of 105MPa, while meeting international and domestic testing requirements such as GTR 13, GB/T 42612, GB/T 42610, GB/T 42536, ECE R134, etc. The operation of this experimental equipment has provided tremendous support for the research and development of IV type bottles in China. At present, Test H Hydrogen Energy Testing has reached a long-term strategic cooperation agreement with Dalian Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspection and Testing Research Institute Co., Ltd.

Vibration laboratory

The laboratory is equipped with a 2-ton (equipped with high and low temperature environmental chambers) and a 20 ton vibration table, which can undertake vibration durability testing of hydrogen storage components, systems, and hydrogen storage tanks under random, periodic vibration, and impact conditions. We can carry out testing projects for American, European, and national standards, as well as customized testing projects, to ensure the reliability and durability of the hydrogen storage system installed in the entire vehicle.

Hydraulic blasting laboratory

The laboratory includes one set of hydraulic burst testing system for gas cylinders and three sets of fatigue and pressure resistance testing systems for hydrogen storage system components. It can carry out hydraulic burst and pressure resistance tests for Type III and Type IV cylinders as well as hydrogen storage system components. The hydraulic burst test system for gas cylinders has an upper limit of burst pressure of 300MPa, while the fatigue pressure test system for hydrogen storage system components has an upper limit of burst pressure of 400MPa. This experiment mainly verifies the burst pressure of the test gas cylinder and the analysis of component pressure resistance, and is also an important means of assessing the pressure resistance strength of hydrogen storage gas cylinders/components.

High voltage pulse testing laboratory

The laboratory mainly conducts high-pressure gas pulse tests on the components of the vehicle mounted high-pressure hydrogen storage system to test the durability of the components under different temperature conditions. The aim is to avoid the occurrence of component rupture caused by frequent high-pressure gas pulse impacts during hydrogen charging and supply processes.

Environmental and Valve Testing Laboratory

The laboratory is equipped with cold and hot shock chambers, high and low temperature test chambers, helium pressurization equipment, etc; Mainly targeting the airtight components in the hydrogen storage system, performance testing of hydrogen storage system components can be carried out simultaneously under temperature load and pressure load (up to 98MPa) conditions. The testing temperature can reach -40 ° C to 80 ° C, ensuring that the component products can meet the overall performance of the vehicle.
